Ephesians 6:12-18
Have you seen a wrestling match before? Wrestling is such a very contact sport and it takes stamina amongst other things to overcome your opponent.
The fact that the scripture is saying that we “wrestle” not against flesh and blood tells us that we are automatically in a wrestling match. The scripture is letting us know who and what we are wrestling to better help us strategize and equip us.
Many a times some Christians will say, we have God so He fights for us or Christians shouldn’t have to suffer because we have been purchased by the blood of Jesus Christ.
That is all true that we have God and have been purchased, but remember that even Jesus Christ the son of God Himself was challenged by satan. So, what makes you and I different? Jesus wrestled and overcame satan by applying the scriptures.
If we change our perspective, we will know that there is something that the enemy sees in us that he wants to dim or take away. But that thing that he wants is from God, and only you can have it.
You came on this earth with it and you will leave with it because, it’s built inside you. Let us be conscious of the fact that we are in a battle until the end. We pray for strength to be able to fight each day. Some days will be better than some, but other days will be tough.
Just because you see still waters does not mean that there are no waves. The guarantee here for children of God is that the Lord is the one who goes before us in our battles and as long as you are on the Lord’s side, victory will be yours in the end. Put on your full armor (v. 13-17), pace yourself and don’t give up.
Don’t be discouraged by the battle, it means that you are special. If you were not the enemy wouldn’t waste his time on you. Be encouraged! Amen
